A favorite way we like to spend a Sunday afternoon involves some fresh oysters with white wine. A simple, healthy yet elegant meal or appetizer, it makes the weekend that much better. Make sure to find the freshest oysters you can (our personal favorites are the Kumamoto variety). Directions on how to shuck oysters can be found here – please be careful! Serve them over ice, with chilled White Wine or bubbles, and slices of lemon.
For a bit of variety, you can make a Mignonette sauce to accompany them. Enjoy!
Mignonette Sauce:
1/2 cup Red wine vinegar
2 tbsp Chopped shallots
1 tsp ground black pepper
Salt as needed
Makes approx. 1/2 cup
